And in the end, we return to where it all began, at least for Michael and the gang at Foolish Earthling Productions - with one of the incredible images of the great master designer, architect and space artist Chesley Bonestell.

Bonestell's work transformed magazines, science-fiction novels and films of the early and middle years of the 20th Century. Long before space telescopes, heck, long before a rocket ever left our planet, he took us to the surfaces of other worlds, turning them into places we couldn't wait to grow up and explore in person. It's no exaggeration to suggest that neither today's culture nor our science, from NASA to Star Trek - would be the same without the influence of Chesley Bonestell. Our own debt to his work and vision remains incalculable.

But let's hand the final word off on Mr. Bonestell to our friend (and frequent contributor), the great contemporary artist and designer Ron Miller.
